Our Story

I’m Max Dashu, and I’ve been researching, documenting, and teaching global women’s history since 1970, when I founded the Suppressed Histories Archives. For the past thirty years, I’ve done speaking tours with my visual presentations, on topics ranging from Female Rebels and Mavericks to Goddess Cosmologies . I also teach online courses and webinars, and am frequently consulted with research questions about Goddess veneration, mother-right, and female leadership. My first dvd Women’s Power in Global Perspective was released in 2008. Over the past year, I’ve been working on this new movie about the often-erased cultural legacy of female shamans and medicine women, gathering visuals and organizing information. Now it’s time to actually put the movie together, and that is where you come in.
